How to choose

1. Size: area or length

Check your pool against the rating the maker publishes. Aiper and Beatbot mostly rate by floor area, Dolphin and Polaris by length. Our pool measuring guide covers both.

2. What needs cleaning

Floor-only robots are cheapest. Walls and the waterline (the grimy band at the water's edge) need a wall-climber. Surface skimming catches leaves before they sink. See floor, walls, waterline and surface.

3. Cord or battery

Cordless robots skip the floating cable and charge between runs; corded robots run on mains power with no battery to replace. Read cordless vs corded.

Then check your own pool in the pool robot finder.
